Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI Preview & Squad – 2012
After a brilliant attack by the pace bowlers of Pakistan in the first ODI, Sri Lanka came back strongly in the 2nd One Day International with the help of Tillakaratne Dilshan’s unforgettable knock with the bat and Thisara Perera with the ball. After levelling the 5 ODI’s matches series by 1-1, Two big Asian teams Pakistan and Sri Lanka, will begin their war on Wednesday, 13th June at Colombo. it will be 3rd ODI of the series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. No doubt both teams will look to continue the good work, Pakistan will try their best to come back to make the edge in the ODI’s Series by 2-1.
Sri Lanka:
Sri Lanka played brilliantly in the last 2nd ODI match vs Pakistan. Dilshan made a superb knock & helped the lankans able to reach a good target. perera played superbly from both sides. He took 6 wickets in the last match & also played brilliantly with his bat as well. Mahela Jayawardene also played sensible game & he was looking in a good form while he bowled out on the magical bowl of Saeed Ajmal. Don’t forget kumar sangakar, chandimal & upul tharanga, though they failed to prove themselves best in the last ODI but it is not the matter of concern. anything can be expect from these dangerous batmen any time.
with the bat, Sri Lankans also have a bunch of good bowlers, who also contributed to win the 2nd ODI including Malinga, kulasekara, Mathews, Herath. it can be hope by the lankans to come back with the same bowling attack in the 3rd ODI as well.
Pakistan:
On the other side if we talk about Pakistan Batting line up, it was failed. Azhar Ali was the only warrior with the crown of brilliance in the batting line up of Pakistan, he made 96 runs and bowled out on the unplayable ball of Kulasekara (Wicket/stumps was broken into pieces on the brilliant York by kulasekara). Younis khan struggling hard but not able to grab his past superbness performances. it is expected that seletors would give the chance to Imran Farhat as an opener, as Asad shafiq is consistently failing to make a goodpartnerships as an opener.
The bowlers had an off day as their balance was disrupted due to a thumb injury to Mohammad Sami. The spinners were economical as usual but the pacers leaked runs. Saeed Ajmal was used in the power plays to do the containing work after the batsmen had a good start. It will be more gainful to use him as a wicket-taking bowler in this game. Rahat Ali had a rather disappointing debut and it’s hard to see him getting another chance. Aizaz Cheema will be the favourite to take his spot unless Sami regains fitness. In any case, the bowlers would be itching to repair their reputation in this game.

Players to Watch:
Tillakaratne Dilshan: Coming off an unbeaten century, he might start attacking in this match from the word go and put immediate pressure on the bowlers by disrupting their game plan. His brilliance in the field can change the game too.
Shahid Afridi: His fast leg breaks combined with the occasional googly can fox the best of batsmen. He is usually very economical and we never know when he starts blasting the ball out of the park.
Pitch: Over the last few matches played here, the bowlers have been on top. The first innings totals have been modest as a result and thus chasing is the way to go on this pitch. The toss could be crucial in this match.
