Pune: In the 8th match of IPL 5 Pune Warriors won by 22 runs against Kings XI Panjab.

Pune Warriors all two matches in the IPL.

Robin Uthappa gifted a great innings of40 runs for 33 balls including 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Pune scored 166 for 6 in 20 overs. But Kings XI Panjab scored 144 for 8 wickets after playing all over.

Mumbai: On 10 April 2011 in the 5th match of IPL Pune Warriors won by 7 wickets against Kings XI Punjab.

In that match Kings XI Punjab faced 70 dot balls – the most by any team in the IPL 4.

After that match Kings XI Punjab had won 20 and lost 23 of their 44 matches in the IPL.

Ryan McLaren obtained unbeaten 51 off 43 balls. He posted his maiden half-century in Twenty20.

Shrikant Wagh’s bowling figure of (3/16) was his career-best bowling figure in Twenty20.

Wagh took 3 wickets in 3 overs.  He became the Man of the Match for the first time in the IPL.

Gilchrist  completed 40 dismissals (27 catches + 13 stumpings) in the IPL. He was the first wicketkeeper to complete 40 dismissals.

Graeme Smith’s duck was his third first-ball duck in the IPL.

Yuvraj Singh posted 50 sixes in the IPL. He was the fifth batsman to reach 50 sixes or more in the IPLafter Adam Gilchrist (64), Yusuf Pathan (62), Suresh Raina (61) and Rohit Sharma (51).

Dinesh Karthik posted his fifth duck in Twenty20.

Mohali: On 8 May 2011 in the 5th match Pune Warriors won by 5 wickets against Kings XI Punjab.

After that match Punjab had lost five consecutive matches in the IPL 2011 against Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune.

Pune Warriors had won three matches and lost seven matches in the IPL 4. They are placed eighth in the point table.

Yuvraj Singh struck 17 sixes in the IPL. It was the third best in the IPL 2011, next to Chris Gayle (26) and Virender Sehwag (18).

Shalabh Srivastava’s bowling figure of (2/20) was his best bowling performance in IPL 4.

Ryan Harris took 9 wickets in eight matches at an average of 27.55. He became the top wicket-taker for Punjab in the IPL 4.

Rahul Sharma took 13 wickets at 14.69 runs apiece in 10 matches – the highest in Pune bowlers in the IPL 4. He became Man of the Match in that match. It was his  second time in the IPL 4.

 

Punjab obtained 119 for 8 wickets in that match. They posted their lowest total in the IPL at Mohali. Their lowest total was 116 for nine at Mumbai  on April 25, 2008.

Paul Valthaty posted  345 at an average of 43.12, including one century and one fifty, in nine matches. He was the top run-getter for Punjab in the IPL 4.

Alfonso Thomas took 10 wickets in the IPL 4 at an average of 25.30 runs. It was the second highest for Pune Warriors in IPL 2011.
