Rahane’s 98 crushed Kings XI Punjab.

Jaipur: In the 4th match of IPL 5 Rajasthan Royals won by 31 runs against Kings XI Punjab. After 20 overs Rajasthan Royals obtained 191 for 4 wickets.

Rahane played an excellent innings of 98 for balls including 16 fours and 1 six. He also became the Man of  the Match for his great performance.

Rahane and Dravid started with a good opening partnership of 77 runs that helped Rajasthan to make 191.

Cooper took 4 wickets in 4 overs. That was also plus point for the victory.

No one could not make a good score of Kings XI Punjab. That’s why they scored only 160 runs for 9 wickets.

MOHALI: On 22 April 2011 Kings XI Punjab defeated Rajasthan Royals by 48 runs. The win by 48 runs was Punjab’s second biggest by runs’ margin in the IPL. The previous biggest was 66-run win against Mumbai Indians at Mohali on April 25, 2008.

Punjab obtained 195 for 7 wickets. They posted their second highest total against Rajasthan in the IPL – the highest total is 221 for 3 wickets at Mohali on May 28, 2008.

After 2.5 overs Punjab’s scored 50 off 2.5 overs and in the first five overs their score was 73 –is the best first five overs record in the IPL history.

Shane Warne took   50 wickets at 25.66 apiece in 47 matches- third bowler to complete 50 wickets or more in the IPL after joining Rudra Pratap Singh (54) and Pragyan Ojha (51).

Shaun Marsh’s 71 for 42 balls at an average of 56.46 -recorded his eighth fifty in the IPL. He scored totalled 847 in 19 matches, including one century and eight fifty.

Shaun Tait’s bowling figure of (3/22) was same of his previous best bowling performance in the IPL.

By the score of  28 off 16 balls Adam Gilchrist completed 1329 runs at an average of 27.12 in 50 matches in the IPL after  Suresh Raina’s (1487) and Sachin Tendulkar’s (1406) .

Gilchrist  celebrated 68 sixes in  his 50th matches in the IPL.

After that match Rahul Dravid recorded his 1000 runs in the IPL, total 1007 runs at an average of 26.50 in 47 matches.

As a fourth team Punjab registered three wins in 4 matches after Kolkata, Mumbai and Kochi in the IPL 4.

Valthaty obtained  total 247 runs at an average of 82.33 in four matches. It  was the best in the IPL 4. A Valthaty’s superb strike rate of 168.02 is also the highest in the IPL 4 among the batsmen.
On Mar 24, 2010 at Mohali in the 19th match of IPL Rajasthan Royals won by 31 runs against Kings XI Punjab.

Rajasthan Royals scored 183 for 5 wickets in 20 overs with the run rate of 9.15 per over. But Kings XI Punjab became all out in 152 runs.

Voges  obtained unbeaten 45 runs for 24 balls including 5 fours and 1 sixes. F Fazal also obtained 45 runs in that match. They were the highest scorer in that match jointly.

Voges strike rate of 187.50 was the highest strike rate among all batsman of Rajasthan Royals. For his great performance he became Man of the Match.

Besides them M Lumb scored 41 and Y Pathan 28. For their combine contributions they reacher at 183.

SW Tait took 3 wickets for 22 runs in 3.1 overs. SK Trivedi and Y Pathan took individually 2 wickets.

MS Bisla obtained 35 from 18 balls including 4 fours and 2 sixes. He was the best scorer of Kings II Panjab in that match.

Captain KC Sangakkara obtained 29 from 13 balls including 6 fours with a strike rate of 223.08.
