Bangalore: In the 5th match of IPL 2012 Royal Challengers Bangalore won by 20 runs against Delhi Daredevils.  IN 20 overs Bangalore obtained 157 for 8 wickets. Delhi scored 137 for 7 wickets.

De Villiers obtained 64 from 42 balls including 6 fours and 2 sixes. He was the best scorer for Bangalore.  For his great performance he became Man of the Match.

M Muralitharan took 3 wickets connected 25 runs in 4 overs. It was also helpful for winning the match.

Naman Ojha was the highest scorer for Delhi. He scored 33 runs.

New Delhi: On May 20, 2008 in the first edition IPL Delhi Daredevils won by 5 wickets against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Shreevats Goswami scored 52 runs. In that match he became the youngest player to score a fifty in the tournament at the age of 19 years 1 day. The previous record was held by  Rohit Sharma- he scored 66 runs at an age of  20 years 358 days old.

Goswami became the Man of the Match. He was the first player from a losing side to win Man of the Match award and also became the first Bangalore batsman to score a fifty in IPL.

Pradeep Sangwan gave 51 runs in 3 overs. It was the most expensive by any bowler in a three-over spell in the IPL. The previous record was  by Joginder Sharma who conceded 45 runs in his three overs in the Chennai-Hyderabad match.

Rajat Bhatia conceded 24 runs in the last over. It was the ninth instance in the IPL when 24 or more runs were scored in a single over.

When Gautam Gambhir reached  at 35 he became the first batsman to complete 500 runs in the IPL.

When Shikhar Dhawan reached in 8 he completed 300 runs or more in Delhi in the IPL after Gambhir and Sehwag.

On Apr 26, 2009 in the 14th match of IPL 2 Delhi crushed Bangalore.

Jacques Kallis was dismissed in the first ball of the match. It was his fourth instance in the IPL when he lost his wicket off the first ball of the match.

Kevin Pietersen obtained 37 in that match. That was his highest score in the IPL. His previous  highest was 32 against Rajasthan at Cape Town in the second match of the IPL.

KP Apanna was the IPL 29th player to appear in Bangalore in IPL.

The third wicket partnership Pietersen and Ross Taylor posted 63 -is Bangalore’s highest for this wicket in IPL. The previous highest partnership was between  Taylor and Jacques Kallis  43-run against Rajasthan in Bangalore in 2008.

In the fifth wicket partnership Virat Kohli and Mark Boucher posted 61 runs .It was the highest fifth wicket partnership for Bangalore.

Tillakaratne Dilshan’s unbeaten 67 was his second fifty in the IPL. His first fifty was a 50 runs in IPL against Chennai Super Kings at Durban in the ninth match of IPL 2.

Delhi won three matches and it was their best sequence in IPL. On the other hand, Bangalore won in the previous four consecutive matches after winning their opening match in IPL 2.
